Hertford MuseumThis development project developed and refurbished Hertford Museum as a community facility where everyone can enjoy, engage with and be inspired by their heritage.

Hertford Museum aims to collect, preserve and interpret evidence of the history of the county town and surrounding parishes in the district of East Hertfordshire for the interest, enjoyment and understanding of the local community and other visitors.

Some of your comments:

Its a fantastic local museum - they have great exhibitions that tie in with what the local schools are doing. Its situated right in the centre of town and is a really friendly museum - it encourages all sorts of people to start visiting museums. The exhibitions are really inspired - eg they obtained the foot of an egyptian mummy to put in their Egyption exhibition. They are a fantastic example of how to do things with a small budget.
Joan Morris, Hertford

Hertford museum has an excellent collection of historical artifacts which are put in perpsective and made relevant to modern people. It also has a though provoking section on the history of the Herford museum and how museum presentation has changed over the last 100 years. There is also an extensive electronic archive of photos of the town which can be readily accessed and hard copies obtained from terminals in the museum.
Kendal Pitt, Hertford
